NICK WELDON ... with the wonderful JEFF CLYNE
Both fantastic musicians and intrepid performers.
Nick is a font of creative ideas and gentle humour;
A wise teacher and inspiring philosopher...
he keeps life being full of promise and fun.

Who knows what may happen over the next
few years with all this space to grow!

CARL ALBAN, our project manager, problem solver and
good friend - working here as ever on the shoefactory he
has restored, constantly suggesting possibilities that would rarely occur to those of us less practically minded! His wicked sense of humour and incredible positive energy kept us moving forward with the building when it seemed an uphill struggle... Thank you Carl. XXX
Now living in France with his wife, JACQUI and son, MAX, Carl is working on a much larger scale project - modernising
another historic building into gites for the disabled.
It is, of course, going to be a mega success story.

HUGH FRASER - wonderful musician, composer, pianist, trombonist, inspirational teacher and guru! Experienced educator and course facilitator... who made a life transition possible for me and my becoming a musician, with encouragement and wisdom. Hopefully he will be over here to visit the Shoefactory and make music in the UK. Watch this space...

KEITH COPELAND - the wonderful drummer and spiritual individual, gave me courage and conviction to believe in myself at a time when things were confused and dark. He is another inspirational soul, an amazing teacher and musician to whom I owe a debt of thanks.

BUSTER WILLIAMS - who was in Edinburgh when I went to the Fringe in 2003 with Mike Hatchard's great project about Edward Lear - 'The Owl and the Pussycat'. He was with George Colligan, Lennie White with the amazing Steve Nelson on vibes, playing in Bill Kyle's wonderful jazz club, The Bridge - before it tragically burned down later that summer. Buster was a calming influence in all the excitement there and an encouraging teacher.
Surprising the people we had in common:  Joan Cunningham, his great friend,
had been the inspiration for Nick's song 'People We Once Knew'.

NICK TOMALIN - pianist, composer and arranger,
has written a wonderful musical adventure for children aged around 7 to 11.
'Molly and the Owl' demonstrates how 'improvising' can literally open doors!
I am the narrator and the band are top UK players:
Nick Tomalin - piano
Mike Williams - saxes
Mark Armstrong - trumpet
Dylan Howes - drums
Dominic Howells - bass
Performances are an hour long. Children and parents love it!
We've played at schools, the Ealing Jazz Festival and Arts Centres.
It's a magical story, beautifully musically illustrated.

CHRISTINA JANSEN is the photographer who produced the pictures I use in my publicity.
She can make magic! She and the lovely DEBBIE GOULD, another singer - and make-up artist,
eased all my nerves in the fun photography session that produced these shots.
I am eternally grateful to them both for giving me the gift of some images of myself I can live with!
Christina's website is a visual delight.
